Help: Document Number Search
line

  • Mineral Resources Branch maps and publications are numbered by year or given a three digit number:

    e. g. Map ME 2000-001, Bulletin ME 005, Memoir ME 010, Open File Report ME 655

  • The zeros ensure proper sorting by Document Number and must be used in the Document Number search window. A three digit number must always be entered, whether it is a straight three digit number (e. g. Bulletin ME 005, Memoir ME 010, OFR ME 655) or part of a year-related number (e. g. Map ME 2000-001)

  • The ME is used internally in DNR to distinguish Mineral Resources Branch documents from documents produced by other branches within DNR (e. g. Forestry)

  • Do not include the ME in the document number when entering a value in the Document Number search window

  • Enter your number in the Document Number search window

    e. g. 005, 010, 655, 2000-001

  • Your search is executed when you click the Search and Display button

  • Document Numbers may not be unique to one document. For example, the number 2000-1 can be found as Map ME 2000-1 or as Report ME 2000-1. As a result, a search of Document Number may return more than 1 hit. It is best to search Document Number AND Document Type, the combination of which will return a unique hit:

    e. g. Map ME 2000-001, Bulletin ME 005, Memoir ME 012

  • You can do OR search using the | symbol in the Document Number field:

    e. g. 005|655 will find all documents containing these document numbers

  • You cannot do AND searches in the Document Number field:

    e. g. 005&655 will not work

Old Assessment Report Numbers

Before 1980, assessment reports were numbered in the following format: 11E/03D 06-D-42(02). If you wish to search for an old assessment report number in the Document Number field, type in the number exactly as shown above. Leave a space between the 11E/03D and the 06, and use the minus(hypen) symbol between 06 and D, and D and 42.
